CLEANING THE INSTRUMENT
The cleaning of the instrument should be performed regularly using proprietary decontaminants
followed by water and appropriate detergent. Only the deck and outside of the instrument should
be cleaned, together with running the appropriate cleaning cycles to keep the tubing clean. Do
not attempt to remove any panels in order to clean inside the instrument, as there is a risk of
injury and risk of damage to the instrument.
The guidelines below should always be followed for cleaning the instrument deck and
components:
Wear protective gloves prior to cleaning.
Use an appropriate detergent to clean surrounding surfaces.
Dampen a cloth in detergent and wipe all areas in and around the base and the reagent
area. Use the same technique to wash all parts that may come in contact with any
accidental spillage.
Clean all the reagent bottles at the end of each run
Ensure that the waste bottle is emptied
Ensure that the tip-waste trough is emptied and cleaned (if applicable).
Refer to section 7.1.5 for details on cleaning the tube lines.
Note: It is the responsibility of the user not to use decontamination or cleaning agents
that could cause hazard as a result of the reaction with parts of the equipment or with
