The top cover is easy to open by pressing on both sides of
the grid. Then you just have to lift it.
Install the tubes according to the diagram below:
2x
ECC82 in V1 and V4 positions
2x ECC83 in V2 and V3 positions
4x KT-88 from V5 to V8 positions
Warning, tubes are numbered (V1 to V8) since the factory
settings have been made with a tube for each position,
please position each tube accordingly.
Follow the
instructions to install each tubes in the correct position.
When you replace the tubes, make sure that the pins are in
the correct direction.
Original tubes supplied with your amplifier BC EX888 have
50 hours "running in" period, their characteristics are
already greatly stabilized.
WARNING!
No liquid must be in contact with the tubes.
Setting procedure biases tubes KT88
Warning: Setting Bias is normally not likely to vary over
time. But you have to perform this settings when changing
the tube. The original tubes have already been the subject
of this procedure at the factory.
- Set the voltage of your digital multimeter to DC 2V caliber.
- The red tip (here on this scheme in light gray colour)
contacts the positive terminal (dot)

and the black tip in
contact with the negative terminal (test)

- The bias voltage must be adjusted between 0.4 V and
0.45 V.
Using a screwdriver (bias)

increase the voltage by
turning in the direction of clockwise and the other
counterclockwise to decrease it.
The life of a tube depends on the
particular use and the average
output power.
As part of a "classic" use, a life of
about 2500 hours is generally
allowed.
