Poet does not speak any more
Check the volume control. Turn the right knob to a middle position.
You cannot understand a word of the document:
Check the speed control. Turn the left knob to a middle position.
Check if the text of the document is hand written or printed in a foreign
language.
After scanning there is no text recognized and spoken:
Check, if the page faces the printed side down to the glass. Turn the
page and start scanning once again. Check, if the page contains
pictures or if the text is printed on a coloured background. Check, if
the transportation lock is unlocked. Push the switch on the rear side
fully to the direction of mains connector.
Scanning does not start although the triangular Start key is
pressed:
Check, if the device is switched on. LED lights green. Do you get a
message when you press the start key? What does the message tells
you? Probably, the text window is not in the foreground or you are in
the Daisy Reader. Press Escape key several times until you get the
Prompt: “Text window”.
The device does not react on any key stroke and it is not
possible to turn off.
Press the on/off key and hold pressed until the green LED light goes
off. (ca. 30 sec.). Then turn on the device in the normal way. In case
the device does not turn on again, you have to contact the service
department.
The device does not use the usual settings.
Probably you have activated or deactivated some settings by mistake
and now the usual configuration has changed. Reset the device to the
factory default. Therefore open the menu and select the entry
“Settings > Restore original settings” and confirm “Yes”.
