WALK-IN BATHTUB INSTALLATION MANUAL
ACCESS TO PUMP ETC. AFTER INSTALLATION
In accordance with ASME A112.19.7/CSA B45.10 and IPC code
paragraph 421.5 ‘Access
to Pump’, the following are the manufacturer recommendations for access.
The codes state that any access opening must be unobstructed and of a size necessary
to permit the removal and replacement of the circulation pump.
There are two detachable front panels that are held to the tub by way of magnets. To
access and/or service the pump or blower, remove the panels and proceed as under.
•
Disconnect the electrical supply to the unit.
•
Remove the faulty part.
•
Install the new part.
•
Fill the tub, leave for 30 minutes and check for leaks.
•
Connect to electrical outlet and test operation of unit.
•
Allow the tub functions to run for 5 minutes and check again for leaks.
•
Before activating the jets etc., drain a little water from the tub so the water level
is about 3” above the highest jet
•
Turn the directional eye on the water jets to face down
•
The jets should then be activated and allowed to run for a further 5 minutes and
checked for leaks.
•
Test all functionality; jet direction adjustment, jet speed control, light etc.
•
If leaks occur, tighten any obvious joints where applicable.
