11. Troubleshooting
With the Basetech car radio, you have purchased a product built to the state of the art and
operationally safe. If you still encounter any problems or interferences, the following explanations
may help in troubleshooting.
No playback, no display, and the lights are out
•
Car fuse defective. Look up the respective fuse in the operation manual of your car. Check
the fuse.
•
The fuse of the car radio is defective. Remove the device and check the fuse.
•
The positive line or ground connection line is loose. Remove the device and check the
connections of the cables.
Playback only through one speaker
•
The balance control is wrongly adjusted. Adjust the balance control as described.
•
The speaker connection has come loose. Remove the device and/or speakers and check
the connections.
In FM radio operation hardly any stations can be received
•
The aerial is not pulled out completely. Pull out the aerial to its full length.
•
The aerial connection has come loose. Remove the device and check the connection.
•
The aerial is defective. Check the connection, earthing and the aerial itself.
Interferences in radio and USB or SD card operation
•
Interferences reach the car radio via the positive line. Install an additional interference
suppression coil into the positive line.
•
If necessary, also equip the vehicle with spark-plug suppressor sockets, distributor arms, etc.
to suppress interferences.
•
Bad ground connection. Check ground connection, use other grounding point if required.
When you press a station button, you only hear hissing
•
No station has been programmed. Program the stations as described above.
•
The continuous positive line is not connected, or has come loose. Connect or check the
continuous positive line as explained in the instructions or check whether the cable is
correctly connected. Check the fuse.
