Explanation of the symbols
This symbol indicates specific risks associated with handling, function and use.
The “arrow” symbol indicates special tips and operating information.
Safety Instructions
Damages due to failure to follow these operating instructions will void the warranty/guarantee! We do
not assume any liability for any resulting damage!
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper use or non-
compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases, the warranty/guarantee will be null and void.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not permitted for safety and approval
reasons (CE). Do never dismantle the product (apart from inserting/replacing the batteries).
• The product is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of children. It contains small items and batteries.
• The manufacturer is not responsible for incorrect displays or measured values and any consequences which
may arise thereof.
• The display unit is only intended for use in dry, enclosed indoor spaces, it must not get damp or wet.
• If the product is used in vehicles, it must be operated only when the situation is appropriate and allows the
operation and use of the unit. Do not use/operate the product if this distracts you from driving the vehicle. The
same is true for the reading out of measured values from the product’s display.
• Do not use the product in rooms that are under adverse environmental conditions, where combustible gases,
vapours or dust are or may be present! There is a risk of explosion!
• Handle the product with care. It can be damaged by blows, strikes and falls, even from a low height.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a dangerous plaything for
children.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions, please contact our technical
service or other specialist.
Notes on batteries/rechargeable batteries
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; there is a risk that they could be swallowed by children or pets.
If they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged normal/rechargeable batteries in contact with the skin can cause acid burns; therefore, use suitable
safety gloves.
• Liquids leaking from batteries/rechargeable batteries are very chemically aggressive. Objects or surfaces coming into
contact with these liquids might be considerably damaged. Thus, store batteries/rechargeable batteries in a suitable location.
• Ensure that the batteries/rechargeable batteries are never short-circuited, taken apart or thrown into a fire. There is a risk of
explosion!
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
• Make sure that the polarity is correct when inserting the battery or rechargeable battery (pay attention to the negative/- and
po terminals).
• If the device is not to be used for a long time (e.g., storage) remove the inserted batteries/rechargeable battery. Old batteries/
rechargeable batteries may leak and cause damages to the product, which will lead to the loss of the warranty/guarantee!
• For the environmentally friendly disposal of batteries/rechargeable batteries, please read the chapter „Disposal“.
We recommend to operate the product only with a high-quality alkaline battery, and not with a rechargeable
battery. Due to the lower voltage (rechargeable battery = 1.2 V, battery = 1.5 V) and the lower capacity, the use
of a rechargeable battery will lead to a shorter service life, especially at low outdoor temperatures.
Inserting/replacing batteries
• Open the battery compartment on the back of the device and insert one battery of type AAA/Micro, with the correct polarity
(pay attention to plus/+ and minus/-, see illustrations in the battery compartment and on the battery). Close the battery
compartment again.
• The battery needs changing when the display contrast is reduced considerably.
Installation
• The display unit can be mounted in a suitable location using the Velcro® strips enclosed. Make sure the adherent is smooth,
level, dry and free of grease and dust.
If the display unit is installed in a vehicle, make sure it does not impair the function of other displays or controls of the vehicle.
• The sensor can be mounted in a suitable location outdoors. To this end, the sensor is equipped with an adhesive tape on
the bottom side. Make sure the surface you have chosen to attach the sensor to, is smooth, level, dry and free of grease and
dust.
Protect the cable between the display unit and sensor from sharp edges and do not bend it. Lay the cable so that it does not
hinder you while driving the vehicle.
The sensor should be mounted in a protected place which is not exposed to direct sunlight or humidity/moisture,
otherwise you will have incorrect measurement values. The ideal place in vehicles is, for example the area
between the door and car body. However, it is essential to ensure that the sensor is not crushed and the door or
car body is not damaged by the sensor casing.
Display indications/operation
• The temperature display „IN“ (on the left of the display) stands for indoor temperature, the display „OUT“ (on the right of the
display) for outdoor temperature.
• Using the press switch „ALERT ON/OFF“ you can switch the frost warning function on or off (when the function is switched
on, the indication „ALERT“ appears on the right bottom of the display).
If the frost warning function is activated, an acoustic signal is emitted and the two LEDs flash for a few seconds (for about 5
seconds during each minute) when the outdoor temperature („OUT“) is in the range between -1 °C and +3 °C.
Maintenance and Cleaning
• The product is maintenance-free for you; never dismantle it (except for inserting/replacing the batteries as described in these
operating instructions).
• The outside of the product should only be cleaned with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions for this could damage the housing (discolouring) or impair the
operation.
• Dust can be easily removed with a brush and a vacuum cleaner, if necessary.
Disposal

product.
b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries. Disposal of
used batteries in the household waste is prohibited!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with this symbol to indicate that disposal in the
domestic waste is forbidden.
The symbols for dangerous heavy metal constituents are: Cd=Cadmium, Hg=Mercury, Pb=Lead (name written
on the battery/rechargeable battery, e.g., under the rubbish bin symbol on the left).
You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the official collection points of your community, in
our stores, or at places where batteries or rechargeable batteries are sold!
