Put the timing lock pin on the fuel injection pump into the locked position.
NOTE: Do
NOT attempt to rotate the pump shaft when the pump shaft timing is locked.

Rotate the engine (make sure the pump timing gear is rotating freely on the pump
shaft) until the timing marks line up with 6° btdc with cylinder number 1 in compression.
