Operation, Service & Repair
Pull volute from pedestal. Unscrew
the impeller from shaft in the right
hand direction. Take note of the size
and quantity of shims used.
To reassemble, use the required
number of shims to result in an
impeller-to-volute clearance of 0.015"
max.
Remove rotating member, spring and
retaining ring of seal from shaft.
Remove stationary by prying out
with screwdriver. If any part shows
wear or damage replace complete
seal.

Shaft seal
To reassemble, lightly oil ring and
press stationary member over shaft
and into pedestal. Lightly oil shaft
and inner surface of bellows of
rotating member. With lapped
surface facing pedestal, slide rotating
member onto shaft until lapped faces
of rotating member and stationary
are together.

PARTS WITH EXTREME CARE. DO NOT
DAMAGE LAPPED FACES.
CAUTION
Remove capscrews, lockwashers from
pedestal. Remove bearing cap, shim
along with slinger, shaft and bearing
assembly. To replace bearings, press
off of shaft.

REASSEMBLE PUMP IN OPPOSITE
ORDER.
