3.1 Projection module
Depending on the screen size, OverView D is designed as a dark box mounted on a support, or as a flexible
structure with shieldings. The differences in design are only mechanical, optics and electronics do not differ.
Especially care is taken that no ambient light is falling onto the rear of the screen thus reducing the contrast.
Inside the projection module, the following components are installed: the projection unit with the a single-DMD™
chip, color filter system, illumination and projection optics, the illumination unit (dual lamp system), and a cool-
ing system.
Via a mirror, the image is projected onto the rear of the screen.

Dual lamp system
The illumination unit can be selected as a 100W model or a 120W model, depending on the overall need of
brightness or power consumption.
The light of a UHP™ lamp illuminates via a transmissive color wheel the DMD.
The projection engines has a dual lamp system and can be operated in three operation modes: Hot Standby ,
Cold Standby , Auto Switch mode.
