12. CLEANING THE PROJECTOR
12.1 Projector lenses
General guidelines for cleaning projector lenses
Blow off dust with clean compressed air (or pressurized air cans) .
Use lens cleaner and a clean lens cleaning cloth to remove the dust and contamination.
Wipe in broad strokes, in one direction only.
Warning: Do not wipe back and forwards across the lens surface as this tends to grind dirt into the coating.
Use a dry clean lens cleaning cloth to remove left liquid or stripes. Polish with small circles.
If there are still fi ngerprints on the surface, repeat with lens cleaner and a clean lens cleaning cloth, then polish again with a dry cloth.
If smears occur when cleaning lenses, replace the cloth. Smears are the fi rst indication of a dirty cloth.
12.2 Projector cabinet

Always disconnect the projector from the mains power net before attempting to clean the projec-
tor cabinet.
General guidelines for cleaning the projector cabinet (exterior only)
Clean the housing of the projector with a damp cloth. Stubborn stains may be removed with a cloth lightly dampened with a mild
detergent solution.
12.3 Filters
General guidelines for cleaning projector fi lters (external)
Remove the fi lter from the projector then use a vacuum to remove excess dust from the fi lter. Do not wet or soak the fi lter.
Cleaning of the projector fi lter should be done in a separate room to avoid dust contamination.
