Yourinsertheatercomeswithazeroclearanceoutercasing,whichallowsittobefittedintoa
combustiblewallusingtheframedimensionsandclearancesbelow.
Theappliancemustbeinstalledbyaqualifiedwoodheaterinstalleraccordingtothelatestversionof
AS2918.Pleasenotethattheenclosuremustbesealedfromexternaldraughtsandvermin.
HearthConstruction
If you are installing your heater on a
combustible heat-sensitive floor, then you
mustuseahearthwithyourheater.
Thehearthshallconsistofnolessthan5mm
thick compressed fibre cement sheet. The
cementsheetshallhavethermalconductivity
notgreaterthan0.33W/m°K.
Thehearthmustextendaminimumof300mm
infrontoftheheaterandnolessthan200mm
from either side of the door opening. The
hearthmustbeaminimum1150mmwide.
Cladding
The frame and cladding must extend to the
ceiling.
Thefrontwalloftheenclosuremustconsistof
n o n - c o m b u s t i b l e m a t e r i a l . T h e n o n -
combustible material must extend from the
floor protector to a minimum height of 1000
mmabovethetopofthezeroclearancebox.
Foreaseofconstruction,itisrecommended
that the full height of the front wall be
constructedofnon-combustiblematerial.
Thenon-combustiblematerialmustextendno
less than 65 mm either side of the zero
clearancebox.Ifdesired,thewidthofthefront
wallmaybeextended.

ClearancestoCombustibles
The diagram below shows the minimum
clearances (in millimetres) from the zero
clearanceboxtocombustiblematerials.
Theclearancesincludedistancestothetimber
framing,anysidewallsandtotheceiling.
-Theremustbenolessthan350mmbetween
thefloorandthebottomofthezeroclearance
box (this refers to the bottom face of the
supportchannels).
-Theremustbenolessthan30mmbetween
thesideofthezeroclearanceboxandany
combustiblematerial.
-Theremustbenolessthan450mmbetween
combustiblesidewallandthesideofthezero
clearancebox.
-Theremustbenolessthan400mmbetween
the top of the zero clearance box to any
internalstructuraltimbers.Pleasenoteyou
mayneedtouseametalbracetosupportthe
claddingdirectlyabovetheheater.
