MAINTENANCE

1. 

Check anvil clearance, tightness, and wear. 

 

   

2. 

Check shear bar clearance, sharpness, and tightness every 50 hours of operation.  

   

3.  Check alternator and fan belts on engine, adjust or replace. 

   

4.  Check spring tension on easy climb feed system.  

   

5. 

Check and retorque wheel lug nuts. 

   

6. 

Lubricate steel friction areas: pivoting, hinged, sliding, & rotating areas  

     

(i.e. control bar, folding tray, discharge flipper, hyd. valves & linkages, hyd. bump bar, etc).

7. 

Use a dry lube on any chain driven component.

WEEKLY CHECK LIST

Every week these checks must be made:

1. 

Grease drum head bearings every 120 hours or monthly with 8 pumps of 

 

     

Mobil 1 Universal Synthetic grease, Mobil SHC 220 Synthetic grease, 

 

Mobil AW2 Synthetic grease, or Amsoil Multi-Purpose Grease NLGI#2.

2. 

Check towing hitch for wear, keep pintle ring greased. 

   

3.  Check discharge, and infeed hopper for wear. 

   

4. 

Inspect feedwheel motor connection.  

   

5. 

Check feedwheel teeth for sharpness. 

   

6. 

Check, retighten all bearing and chipper sheave bolts. 

   

7. 

Check hydraulic function pressures. Set to specified PSI (bar). 

   

8. 

Check and grease or oil wheel bearings, follow axle MFG. instructions. 

   

9.  Check and adjust brakes, follow axle MFG. instructions. 

   

10. 

Check and adjust discharge chain tension (if equipped). 

   

11. 

Lubricate “Bandit” lever throttle cable (if equipped).

MONTHLY CHECK LIST

Every month these checks must be made:

1. 

Replace hydraulic filter(s) after first 10 hours then quarterly or every 400 hours.

      

2.  Grease swivel plates for discharge as needed. 

   

3.  Replace high pressure oil filter(s) (if equipped) after first 10 hours then  

     

quarterly or every 400 hours.

3 MONTH CHECK LIST

Every three months these checks must be made:

1. 

Change hydraulic oil and flush the hydraulic tank.  

   

2.  Replace hydraulic suction screen(s) annually or every 2000 hours. 

   

3.  Drain and clean the fuel tank. 

   

4.  Remove all grease from drum head bearings, repack and fill housing 1/2 full.
