STARTING UP AND REGULATION
STARTUP
The burner can operate in two different ways:
• Manual operation,
•
to be used for the first burner start-up, commissioning and calibra
-
tion.
• In this phase there are three distinguished operating points: P0 num-
ber of revolutions at ignition load, P1 number of revolutions at mini-
mum load, P2 number of revolutions at maximum load.
• Automatic operation,
• for normal operation.
FIRST BURNER START-UP (MANUAL OPERATION)
To start the burner for the first time, carry out the following operations:
1) Make sure that the burner is not electrically powered by discon-
necting the multipolar plug X1S.
2) Disconnect the external modulation control (3-point control or
analogue signal).
3) Connect a minimum-maximum switch to the X2B socket ensuring
that the switch is at 0.
CAUTION / WARNINGS
Incorrect positioning of the switch may cause burner power to
increase after the start.
4) Open the thermostatic chain T1-T2 in the seven-pin socket (X1S)
so that the burner does not start once powered.
5) Reconnect the plug X1S, The equipment display must light up.
This is an indication that the electrical voltage is available and
reaches the burner.
6) Keep the "A" button and the "+" or "-" buttons pressed simultane-
ously for more than 5 seconds. This will activate the manual fun-
ction and OFF will appear flashing. If no operation is carried out
for more than 30 seconds, the equipment automatically switches
to the standard operating mode.
Repeat the above operation.
7) Position the minimum-maximum switch in the min position and
make sure there is heat demand by closing the thermostatic chain
T1-T2 of the seven-pin socket. Make sure that this is available
and present throughout the burner calibration phase.
8) The equipment performs a start-up cycle until the end of the
pre-ventilation phase P30,, then sets to the start load position and
switches to the P0 display (ignition load rpm).
The display changes from P0 to a three-digit number. This num-
ber multiplied by 10 indicates the number of turns at which the
ignition will occur.
By pressing the "A" button and the "+" or "-" button, it is possible
to change the rpm value of 10 rpm within the predefined limits
(P0max, P0min factory set values).
The setting value for parameter P0 must be greater than the
setting value for parameter P1.
Setting values are verified by the equipment.
If setting rules are not observed, the equipment enters lockout
mode, signalling an error Loc:225.
Press the "info" button to confirm the value.
9) The burner proceeds with the ignition phases (P36-P38- P40).
10) If the flame does not appear at the end of the safety time, the
burner restarts automatically. It will perform a maximum of three
attempts, after which it will go into lockout.
To unlock it press the "info" key for three seconds.
If the burner does not light up, check the actual pressure at the
valve outlet, adjust the maximum pressure adjustment screw
according to the value read on the pressure gauge.
11) Once the burner is switched on, the equipment continues the
cycle and moves to the minimum load position P1.
As for the previous phase, the display changes from P1 to the
number of rpm, expressed with three digits.
By pressing the "A" button and the "+" or "-" button, it is possible
to change the rpm value of 10 rpm within the predefined limits
(P1max, P1min factory set values).
Perform the flue combustion analysis making sure that the O2
and CO parameters fall within the acceptable values. In this
phase a maximum calibration will be performed.
The possible adjustment of the gas quantity must be carried out
by acting on the maximum pressure adjustment screw.
Press the "info" button to confirm the set rpm value.
12) Set the minimum-maximum switch to the maximum position.
The P2 status will appear on the display and the equipment will
increase the fan rpm to the maximum load.
The display changes from P2 to the number of rpm, expressed
with three digits.
By pressing the "A" button and the "+" or "-" button, it is possible
to change the rpm value of 10 rpm within the predefined limits
(P2max, P2min factory set values).
Perform the flue combustion analysis, making sure that the O2
parameters fall within the values indicated in the manual, and
also perform the CO analysis checking that there are no unburnt
substances.
The possible adjustment of the gas quantity must be carried out
by acting on the maximum pressure adjustment screw.
Press the "info" button to confirm the set rpm value.
13) Once the correct operation has been verified at maximum power,
act on the maximum-minimum switch, bringing the selector to the
minimum position.
