Installation
The product must be installed such that it is protected
from electromagnetic fields and mechanical damage.
4.1.1 Quasi-flush mountable sensors
Quasi-flush mount sensors require a space behind the
active surface which is free of conductive materials. The
minimum permissible distance between the active surface
and installation material is designated
dimension X
(see
Fig. 4-1).
For ferroelectric installation materials (such as iron, steel
and stainless steel) dimension X is 2.5 mm. With non-
electrically conductive installation materials (such as brass
and aluminum), the distance is 2 mm.
The deviation in the effective operating distance associated
with the installation is maximum 10%.

4.1.2 Non-flush mountable sensors
Non-flush mountable sensors require a clear space behind
the active surface (see Fig. 4-2).
