CHECkING & CLEANING AIR FILTER
1- Locate air filter which is attached to carburetor under gas tank.
2- Remove air filter by loosening clamp holding filter in place
3- Once foam filter is removed, remove outer foam filter sleeve, check filter
for damage or tears. If filter is damaged or torn, replace.
5- Gently wash foam air filter and outer foam sleeve with clean, non-
flammable (high flash point) solvent such as kerosene.
6- Once Foam air filter is clean and dry, pour foam air filter oil over entire
area of filter. Gently squeeze out any excess oil.
7- Re-install air filter making sure it is seated correctly and that outer foam
sleeve is back place.
CAUTION
The air filter element must be intact or the engine will suck in dust and dirt,
resulting in a shorter service life of the engine.
Water should be prevented from entering into the filter when washing the vehicle.
The filter element shall be cleaned gently without twisting to prevent it from
cracking. Never wash it with gasoline or any acid, alkaline or organic volatile oil to
avoid its aging, which will result in reducing the effect of the air filter oil to catch
particles before they enter the engine. Replace the filter element with a new one if
it is broken or cracked.
