5.5.2 Starting a Calibration
Start any calibration procedure by taking the following steps:
1. Turn ON the Analyzer
Turn the analyzer ON, allowing it to cycle through its 60-second warm-up period in fresh
air. During the warm-up, the analyzer’s operation is checked and sensors are set to the
following ambient conditions:
• O
2
sensor spanned to 20.9%,
• All gas sensors are zeroed,
• The pressure sensor is zeroed.
2. Address Warm-Up Errors
Any errors detected during warm-up will be listed on the display immediately following
warm-up. Correct any errors before proceeding. Refer to Error Codes
(Section 5.7.1)
for a list
of error messages and their meanings.
3. Access Calibration Menu
Access the CALIBRATION MENU and use the analyzer’s touch screen or keypad to enter the
4-digit calibration password.
(The calibration password can be changed and / or disabled using
the optional PCA
®
Reporting Software.)

2. Scan or Manually Enter B-Smart

Calibration
If your analyzer supports Near Field Communication
(NFC)
, you may select SCAN CODE to
enter the calibration code.

Select SCAN CODE and hold the lid from the sensor packaging near the PCA
®
400 logo
on the base of the analyzer.
If
you have chosen the MANUAL ENTRY method, enter the alphanumeric code supplied with
the B-Smart
®
Sensor.
f
Select MANUAL ENTRY and use the analyzer’s touch screen or keypad to enter the 10- or
14-digit calibration code.
