• T1 is a short cycle (sucking in, release, stop) program for massage stimulating lactation.
• T2 is a longer cycle (sucking in, stop, release) program for proper expressing of milk.
8.
The program currently in use is signalled with an illuminated diode on the pump. It is
possible to change the T1/T2 mode also during operation of the breast pump.
9.
Adjust proper suction strength with + and – button (15e) according to your own needs.
10.
Stop expressing your milk when it ceases
fl
owing from the breast.
11.
The amount of expressed milk will vary; it depends on whether the lactation process is
regulated, on a time of the day and amount of liquids that you drink. Expressing of milk from
full breasts may take even 30 minutes.
12.
In order to stop operation of the breast pump press the power button (15c) for 2 seconds
till a corresponding diode on the pump is off.
13.
The use of the breast pump should not be painful. If the process causes pain to you, if you
can see redness and irritation of the breast, immediately consult a breastfeeding advisor.
14.
Following the completion of expressing of milk wash all the pump elements and prepare
them for sterilisation.
TROUBLESHOOTING
THE PUMP IS NOT WORKING:
Check that the batteries are correctly positioned in the battery compartment – the battery
ends are placed according to the marking on the compartment. Check also that the batteries
are not pushed too hard in the compartment.
• If you use the mains power lead make sure that it is correctly connected to the breast pump
and plugged into the socket.
LACK OR WEAKENING SUCTION:
• Make sure that all the breast pump elements are correctly assembled.
• Check that the main body valve (6c) is not stuck to the top part of the main body (6a). For
that purpose take the main body into pieces and dry all its elements. Note! Do not remove the
main body valve – it prevents liquids from getting into the pump.
• Check that the release valve is present in the top part of the main body. If it is missing use a
spare release valve attached to the set.
• Check power of the batteries. If they are low replace them with new ones or connect the
mains power lead.
• Check whether there is any air between the breast and the silicone pad. If there is some air
there, take out the breast and place it again in the pump funnel.
ASSISTANCE OF THE BREAST PUMP IN BREASTFEEDING-RELATED PROBLEMS
• Excess of milk
– when the breast is
fi
lled with too much milk it is dif
fi
cult for the baby to
correctly grasp a nipple. By expressing the excess of milk you will make the breast softer and
thus you will make it easier for the baby to correctly grasp the nipple.
• Shortage of milk
– insuf
fi
cient amount of milk makes the baby more easily irritated and
discourages it from sucking the breast. By using the BabyOno breast pump between proper
breastfeeding you will stimulate your breast to produce more milk.
• Nipple shape
– especially in the initial phase of breastfeeding numerous women complain
about the shape of their nipples that are not suf
fi
ciently protruding which makes it dif
fi
cult for
the baby to correctly grasp the nipple. Regular use of the breast pump will help you to more
quickly adapt the breast for feeding.
• Sore nipples
– before you and your baby become skilled in breastfeeding the nipples may
be wounded with gums of the infant who may suck them in an improper way. By using the
BabyOno breast pump you give your nipples some time for healing and shortly you will be
able to breastfeed the baby again.
