Bypassing the Threading Port

Heavy weight threads

Specific techniques may require that the thread bypass the

t h read port f or t h e t h read pull t o b e loos ened .

Start with the machine threaded with regular serger thread.

1 . O pen f ront and c ut t ing b lad e c ov ers and t h en rais e t h e

pres s er f oot .

2 . J us t ab ov e t h e t h read ing port , c lip t h e looper t h read t o b e

replac ed .

P ull t h e t h read out of t h e upper g uid es and rem ov e t h e

c one.

3 . P lac e t h e s pec ialt y t h read on t h e s pool pin.

T h read it int o t h e upper g uid es and c lip it a c ouple of inc h es

beyond the base plate. (fig. A)

4 . W it h m ac h ine eng ag ed in t h e s erg ing pos it ion, h old t h e

t h read end at t h e looper eye and us e t h e t w eez ers t o pull

t h e ex is t ing looper t h read out of t ub e ex t end ing f rom t h e

threading mechanism. (fig. B)
