If you have, for example, a Newtonian, Maksutov, Ritchey-Chretien or Schmidt-
Cassegrain telescope, the light and heat filtering must take place in front of the
light entrance aperture. In the past, plane-parallel glass solar filters were used for
this purpose, but these have largely been replaced by the inexpensive BAADER
