Set Up the Product
The Axis product can be configured by users with administrator or operator rights. To open the product’s Setup pages, click Setup in
the top right-hand corner of the Live View page.
• Administrators have unrestricted access to all settings.
• Operators have restricted access to settings, see Users on page 51

Basic Setup
Basic Setup provides shortcuts to the settings that should be made before using the Axis product:
1. Users. See page 51 .
2. TCP/IP. See page 54 .
3. Date & Time. See page 53 .
4. Video Stream. See page 22 .
5. Focus. See page 30
6. Audio Settings. See page 30 .
The Basic Setup menu can be disabled from System Options > Security > Users .
Adjust focus
Follow these instructions to set the focus and zoom.
If the camera is mounted so that you cannot look at the image and access the lens at the same time, use the Focus Assistant, see
Adjust focus with the Focus Assistant on page 21 .
1. Open the product’s home page and go to Setup > Basic Setup > Focus .
2. Under the Basic tab, click Open iris . If the button is inactive the iris is already open.
3. If focus has been set before, click Reset to reset the back focus.
4. Loosen the zoom and focus pullers on the lens by turning them counter-clockwise. See Hardware Overview on page 7 .
5. Move the pullers to set zoom and focus and check the quality of the image in the image window.
6. Re-tighten the zoom and focus pullers.
7. On the Focus page, click Fine-tune focus automatically and wait until automatic fine tuning is completed.
8. Click Enable iris . If the button is inactive the iris is already enabled.
