AXIS 540/640 User’s Manual

Integration into the

Host Printer Spooler

To integrate the AXIS 540/640 into the host printer spooler, you can
use the auto installation script axinstall, resident in the AXIS 540/640.
Follow the instructions below to install axinstall onto your host using
FTP:

1. Login to the AXIS 540/640 using the command:

ftp <host name>

ftp <IP address>

2. Enter

root

as the user id and

pass

as the password.

3. Download the script using the command:

get axinstall

Log out using the command

quit,

bye

exit

depending on your

FTP version.

Typical FTP session for collecting the axinstall script

> ftp npserver

connected to npserver.
