5. Bug fixing
5.1.
No connection between PC and programming device
If the software and the programming device have been installed correctly, but the communication fails, the
following message appears:
Before you proceed, please check:
– Is the USB cable connected to the PC and programming device?
– Is the LED on the programming device - near the USB port - on?
Then open the Device Manager and check if the programming device is listed there as "Microchip
Custom USB device".
To resolve this problem, the software must be started in compatibility mode.
Select the program shortcut on the desktop
with the right mouse button and open the
properties.
In the next step, under Compatibility, select
the option to start the program in
compatibility mode for WinXP SP3 and save
this setting.
You can then restart the software.
