Appendix-B: Standalone GPS Test
(Optional)
The following three AT commands can be used to perform a quick check of the GPS receiver
AT+QGPS=1
// Turn-on GNSS
AT+QGPSLOC?
// Acquire the positioning info
AT+QGPSEND
// Turn-off GNSS
For a more interactive visual test of the GPS capability,
it is recommended that you download a Windows
GPS application such as VisualGPS or VisualGPSView

The Windows
VisualGPS
application is then
connected to the
NMEA USB serial port
of the
BG96 module (baudrate = 115200) for direct
access to the NMEA messages
(ie.
not
the Modem AT Command serial port!)
