tions is already integrated into the operating system For

Using FRITZ!Box as a DSL Router
1.
Connect FRITZ!Box to the network adapter of the Apple
computer (see “Connecting FRITZ!Box to the LAN Port”
from page 21).
or
Connect FRITZ!Box to the hub of the network in which
the Apple computer is located (see “Connecting
FRITZ!Box to a Network Hub or Switch” from page 23).
2.
Configure FRITZ!Box for operation as a DSL router (see
“Setting up FRITZ!Box for Multiple-Workplace Opera-
tion” from page 28).
3.
Make sure that the network adapter of the Apple com-
puter automatically obtains its TCP/IP settings from
FRITZ!Box. To allow this, DHCP must be enabled for the
network adapter:
TCP/IP Properties for Mac OS X
1.
Select the “System Preferences” in the Apple Menu.
2.
In the “System Preferences” window, click the “Net-
work” icon.
3.
In the “Network” window, select the “Built-in Ethernet”
entry from the “Show:” drop-down menu.
4.
Switch to the “TCP/IP” settings page and select the “Us-
ing DHCP” entry from the “Configure:” drop-down
menu.
5.
Click “Apply Now”.
