Bend the legs to fit the socket 

You must first bend the legs of the Op-Amps slightly to fit into 
the sockets. 

Placing the chip on its side, with 4 legs touching the work 
surface, lean the chip over just a little bit, bending the legs in 
so that they fit the socket.
