Monitoring mains power voltage 

During  operations  the  STERN  monitors  the  mains  power  voltages.  In  case  of 
sudden loss of mains, the STERN shuts down all outputs to avoid harmfull noise 
on the outputs due to the unexpected loss of mains power. 

 

 

After  a  short  drop-out  of  mains  power  you  might  read  the  warning  '

Power  

Failure

'.  In  this  case  press  '

Power  off

'  on  the  front  panel  to  continue.  The 

STERN will now enter stand-by mode. If the mains power is stable again you may 
restart the STERN. 

 

While switching on from stand-by mode and during operations the STERN also 
monitors the level of mains power voltage. In case the mains power voltage level 
is out of the permitted range during switching on or for a longer period during 
operations (so that a secure operation of the unit is not longer ensured), the 
STERN will shut down for security reasons issuing the warning '
