The following table is an overview on all detectable faults and their possible
causes:

Error

Possible causes

Overload

Short circuit or defect in loudspeaker.

High level of DC voltage at the output:
defective preamplifier or source unit.

High frequency oscillation: defective preamplifier.
Clipping: amplifier or preamplifier are overdriven.

Overtemperature HUMBOLDT is getting too hot. Cooling slots covered.

Pre Voltage

Fuse blown or different fault in power supply (pre voltage):
service case.

Amplifier Voltage

Fuse blown or different fault in power supply (amplifier volt-
age): service case

Power Voltage

Mains voltage is out of the permitted range of +/- 17% of
nominal mains voltage; the unit switches off for security rea-
sons or does not start up.

Power Failure

(Short) blackout of mains power.
