Inserting the batteries
Insert the batteries in the open
battery compartment. Only
use batteries of the type AAA
NiMH 1.2 V. Pay attention to
correct polarity. Close the bat-
tery compartment cover.
Charging the batteries
Before the handset is used for the first time, insert it in the base
station / charging station for
at least
14 hours.
When the handset is properly inserted in the base station / charging sta-
tion, you will hear an acoustic signal. The handset warms up during the
charging process. This is normal and does not represent a risk. Do not
charge the handset with charging units from other manufacturers. The cur-
rent
battery charge status
is indicated in the display:
Full
Half empty
Low
Empty
Automatic answering
If this function is activated, an incoming call is taken when the handset is
removed from the base station. The AUTO ANSWER function is activated
and deactivated using the menu. Refer to Page 39 for the sequence of
menu option selections.
Private branch exchanges
The information on Page 38 explains how to install your telephone in a
private branch exchange.
Low radiation operation (ECO mode)
Default settings = ECO-MODE

The telephone can be set up so that the radiation frequency is reduced;

Reductions, with ECO mode activated, in comparison to a standard DECT
cordless telephone:
Up to 75 % less radiation in talk mode (depending on the distance
between the handset and base station).
Up to 90 % less radiation in Standby mode.
If necessary, you can increase the range of the telephone system
by switching ECO MODE off
