6. Room matching
controls.
Although loudspeaker systems performance is
greately affected by room conditions and place-
ment, many manufacturers have ignored these
effects. In contrast, the A4.14 has been designed
for typical use situations, and in addition
performance can be compensated for various
environments.
The bass control (3)
adjusts the power spectrum
below 300 Hz in accordance with the room place-
ment and is calibrated in terms of radiation angles:

The system is at least 60 cm (24 in) from
the nearest room boundary (Floor, ceiling
or wall).

The system in located on one surface (floor,
ceiling or a wall) and at least 60 cm from
any other boundary.

The system is placed at the intersection of
two surfaces, such as floor-wall, ceiling-
wall or wall-wall combination. The distance
to one of these boundaries can be up to 10
cm while the distance to a third boundary
should be at least 60 cm.

When the system is placed in a corner.
Avoid placing the speakers at equal distances from
surfaces. If the A4.14 is placed on the floor it is
better to have 60 cm to the back wall and 80 cm
to the side wall rather than to have 70 cm to both
surfaces.
With the
treble control (4)
high frequency out-
put can be optimized in respect to room absorp-
tion caused by furniture, rugs, wall composition,
etc.
If the left and right speakers are placed differently
the room matching controls should be adjusted
individually for each channel.
7. Overload protection.
A4.14 has three different protection circuits to pre-
vent failure during abnormal operating conditions.
The power supply, amplifiers and bass drivers are
protected by fuses. If the amplifier should approach
overheating, it is automatically turned of by a
temperature sensor. In addition the mid and high
frequency drivers are electronically overload
protected. Excessive power being delivered to the
drivers will cause the A4.14 to shut down for
approximately 10 seconds.
8. Service.
The Audio Pro A4.14 is designed and built for long
term stability and reliability. Should any problem
arise, contact your Audio Pro dealer.
