Figure 4.14.
Global settings.
The first time after the experiment tab is opened the motorized actuators (needle array, dispenser holder
and sample stage) are initialized by moving to a limit switch. This is why it is important to have no
measurement chambers/attachments in place since this might lead to a mechanical collision.
When attaching the multisyringe, move the syringe array laterally until the leftmost needle is in the center
of the image on the image.
The device controls and adjustable parameters in the recipe sheet (Figure 4.15) are the same than with
the single liquid dispenser, excluding the following addition functions:
Use Liquid 1-4 (recipe sheet)/ 1-4 (buttons in the device controls): Enabling corresponding channel
translates corresponding needle into the view and enables its valve for output.
All Input: all channels are connected to the containers. Use this for flushing or filling the syringes
All Output: all channels are connected to the needles. Use this for e.g. flushing the needles
When using the Multidispenser, the sequence is very similar. Select from the checkboxes in the recipe
sheet which channels to include in the automatic sequencing. The sequencer will automatically change
to the next enabled liquid when placing drops onto to sample surface.
