Recording a Memo
This feature allows you to record your own memo or message. (For example, if you want to record a
reminder to yourself about a meeting, or if someone else at the base wants to leave you a message.) This
memo can be played back at the base, from the portable handset, or from another touch tone line, along
with your other messages.

To record:
While the phone is not in use, press and hold MEMO/2WAY until the system beeps.
Release the button and speak toward the front of the system.

To stop recording:
Press MEMO/2WAY again. The current day and time will be announced and
recorded after the message. The Message Window will show that one additional message has been
recorded.
Recording a Telephone Conversation
NOTE:
To ensure that you are in compliance with any federal or state regulations regarding
recording a telephone call, you should start the recording process and then inform your caller that
you are recording the call.

To record:
Press MEMO/2WAY at any time during a phone conversation on the cordless handset.
The system beeps once and begins to record.

To stop recording:
Press MEMO/2WAY or hang up. The Message Window will show that one
additional message has been recorded.
The Access Code
The preset access code is
00
. This code gives you access to your messages, memos and announcements
when you call in from another location. You can use the preset code, or choose your own. If you change
the code, be sure to write it down so you’ll be able to access your system when you are away from your
home or office.
NOTE:
Take one of the wallet cards with you when you leave the base, for a quick reminder of
remote touch tone commands and your access code.

Operating the Answering System Using the Cordless Handset
Establishing a Connection with the Answering System
Press ANS SYS and wait for the ANS SYS Light to go on.
The labels above the number buttons will remind you of the correct button to press for each operation.
To end the connection from the cordless handset after using the answering system, press OFF, or return the
handset to the base.

Playing All of Your Messages:
Press and release 2 (PLAY). You will hear a series of beeps
while the system rewinds the message tape. The system will play all of the messages on the
tape and then beep three times.

Saving Messages:
This system automatically saves old messages after playback. After
performing any answering system operation, simply press OFF on the cordless handset (or
return the handset to the base).

Clearing Messages:
Press and release 5 (RESET). The system rewinds the tape, then resets
itself to record new messages over the old ones.

Rewinding:
Press and release 1 (REWIND) when the system is playing messages. The
system will stop playing, rewind about 15 seconds, and then resume playing. Each time you
press and release 1 (REWIND), the system will back up about 15 seconds.

Fast Forward:
Press and release 3 (FAST FWD) when the system is playing messages. The
system will stop playing, advance the tape about 15 seconds, and resume playing. Each time
you press and release 3 (FAST FWD), the tape will advance about 15 seconds.
