If the appliance does not work properly, this does not always mean that it is defective.
Try to deal with the problem yourself first. Phone the service department if the advice
given below does not help.

improper installation or connection is not covered by the
guarantee.

For the appliance to work well, it is important:
• That there is sufficient ventilation to allow the hob to cool
down, in accordance with the possibilities specified in this
chapter.
• The ventilation air drawn in by the hob must not be warmer
than 35 °C. Bear this in mind if the oven is to be built in
under the hob.
• That the connecting cable hangs freely and is not caught by
a drawer.
• The worktop should be a minimum of 2.8 cm and a
maximum of 5 cm thick.
• The worktop is flat.
• If the hob is to be built in any nearer than 40 mm from an
adjacent wall or kitchen cabinet, either to the back or side
of the appliance, the wall or cabinet should be lined with a
heat resistant material.
