Award BIOS Flash Utility

Updating the BIOS

The Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) can be updated using the AwardBIOS
Flash Utility. Follow these instructions to update the BIOS using this utility.

1. Download the latest BIOS ile from the ASUS web site. Rename the ile to

XXXXX.BIN (model name.BIN)and save it to a loppy disk, CD ROM or a

USB lash disk in

FAT 16/12 format

.

Save only the updated BIOS ile in the disk to avoid loading the wrong BIOS ile.

2. Copy the AwardBIOS Flash Utility (awdlash.exe) from the Software folder of

the support CD to the loppy disk, CD ROM or a USB lash disk with the latest

BIOS ile.

3. Boot the system in DOS mode using the bootable loppy disk, CD ROM or a

USB lash disk you created earlier.

4. Under the DOS mode,

use <X:> (X stands for
the name of the disk
assignment) to switch to

the folder of loppy disk,

CD ROM or USB lash

disk you saved the BIOS

ile and AwardBIOS Flash

Utility.

At the prompt, type

awdlash then press

<Enter>. The Award BIOS
Flash Utility screen appears.
