Removing and Installing the GTOCP5 Control Box
An important part of the design philosophy at Astro-Physics is to use a modular approach to the system components.
Where possible, in the rare event of a failure, components may be removed for repair or replacement. This modular
philosophy is exemplified by the GTOCP5 control box and its predecessors.
The GTOCP5 may be held in a dovetail bracket angled from the top of the Eagle EZ pier, or alternatively, with the bracket
attached to the side of the pier. When using one of the available tripods, it may be necessary to attach the control box
adapter by using an extension to offset the adapter for clearance. Refer to the Mach2GTO manual for more information.
The GTOCP5 is secured into the dovetail bracket by two #8-32 thumbscrews. To remove the GTOCP5 simply loosen
these thumbscrews and then tilt and lift the box free from the dovetail connection. Reverse the procedure to install.
Easy removal

can be especially handy for mounts that are subject to extra environmental stresses.

GTOCP5 can be removed and taken inside to a safer environment when not in use.
