SK 41 Safety relay
6. Mechanical attachment
The switching device must be professionally installed:
- In a dust and moisture-proof control cabinet or housing.
- In compliance with protection class IP54.
- Onto a 35 mm DIN carrier rail.
The switching device must not be installed in close proximity to strong sources
of heat.
The switching device may be installed in any position.
7. Electrical commissioning
Connecting the supply voltage to the wrong terminals can destroy the switching
device.
7.1 Preconditions
• The switching device can be operated with 230 V (115 V) or 24 V.
• If operated using 24 V AC/DC, the voltage must comply with the requirements for functional extra
low voltage (FELV) with safety separation.
• Signal contact
31, 32
is only an auxiliary contact (signalling, indicating etc.) and must not be
integrated into the safety circuit.
• Any cables laid outdoors or outside the control cabinet must be protected accordingly.
7.2 Electrical connection
• Connect the 230V AC (115V AC) power supply to terminals
A1, A2
or 24V AC/DC to terminals
B1 (+), B2 (-)
.
• Connect the sensing device to terminals
X1, X2
.
• Connect the safety circuit that is to be monitored to terminals
13, 24
.
Iftheswitchingcontactsareroutedredundantly,thefactoryfittedbridgebetweenterminals
14, 23
must be removed.
• Bridge terminals
S11, S12
to enable manual reset (factory setting: autom. reset,
S11, S12
unbridged)
and connect the reset button to terminals
Z1, Z2
.
Following successful commissioning, the safety output
13, 24
will be activated (relay contact “closed”).
The relay contact
13, 24
will open if the sensing device is actuated and the alarm relay will actuate
in accordance with the operating principle of the relevant switching device used.
