Connect a network interface card or TP-MAU (if you are using a
thick Ethernet card) to the wall jack using twisted pair modular
extension cable.

Install and wire an RJ45 wall jack at each device location. An
RJ45 has eight pins. Four of these pins are used for the network:
pins 1, 2, 3, and 6. Connect one pair of wires to pins 1 and 2 on
the RJ45, then connect this wire pair to rows 1 and 2 on the
punchdown block. Connect a second pair of wires to pins 3 and
6 on the RJ45, then connect this wire pair to rows 3 and 4 on the
punchdown block. Be sure you do not reverse the polarity of the
wire pair since this will cause that network branch to fail.
