2.5.2 Communication types and scenarios
2.5.2.1 The communication types are available for DIS-TOP as follows: simplex
communication, duplex communication and loud-speaking duplex communication with function
of acoustic feedback suppression.
Simplex communication allows for communication of only one subscriber’s equipment
in transmission mode at any specific time.
Duplex communication allows for communication of two subscribers or group of
subscribers where the subscribers are allowed to simultaneously receive and transmit messages
to each other at the same time. The following scenarios of communications are available in duplex
communication as follows: «Conference» mode (connection up to 8 subscribers) allows that the
initiator and subscribers can receive and transmit messages to each other at the same time,
«Selector» mode allows that Selector participant (subscribers) can answer the initiator and other
subscribers by pressing the key assigned to the initiator number with call function etc.
The relevant indication is displayed at the desktop with regard to the provided
communication type of DIS-TOP programmed by DCN-2 central exchange. For instance, the
following messages can be displayed in simplex ingoing and outgoing calls:
