Description
The PR1200C is a 40-column thermal printer designed for use
with UTC Fire & Security 1200C series fire alarm control
panels.
Installation
To install the printer:
1. Remove cable knockouts from the bottom of the control
panel cabinet and top of the printer housing.
2. Attach the printer mounting brackets to the bottom of the
control panel cabinet as shown in Figure 1. Use the larger
brackets if the control panel has a plastic surround cover.
3. Attach the printer housing to the control panel cabinet, as
shown in Figure 2.
4. Secure the printer housing to the wall using the screws
provided.
5. Feed all cables through the cable knockouts at the top of
the printer housing and into the control panel cabinet. Use
cable ties to secure all cables.
To connect the printer:
WARNING:
Disconnect the mains power supply and the
batteries before making any connections.
1. Connect the power cable from the printer power supply to
J17 (PRINT) on the PS1200N power supply interface
module (Figure 3, item 1).
2. Connect the earth cable from the printer housing to the
earth stud in the control panel cabinet (Figure 3, item 2).
3. Connect the printer serial cable to PORT2 or PORT3 on
the FC2012 CPU host module (Figure 3, item 3).

To configure the printer:
1. Go to the port setup menu on your control panel (System
> Configuration > Communication > Port Setup) and
configure the control panel to printer communication as
shown in Table 2 below.
2. Reset the control panel.

To test the printer:
1. Print a list of events from the events menu on your control
panel (Events > Display Events > Destination > Ev. Pri. >
Execute).
To load the paper:
1. Open the cover at the front of the printer and insert the
paper as shown in Figure 4.
2. Pull the leading edge of the paper up to align with the exit
slot and close the cover as shown in Figure 5.
Maintenance
Basic maintenance consists of a yearly inspection. Do not
modify internal wiring or circuitry.
