PROTECH FUNCTION
(Available just on some models)
The “PROTECH” function activates for the product, an electronic system that protects against corrosion origi-
nateci by the water-metal contact, ensuring excellent longevity of the appliance’s tank in case of chemically
aggressive water. The principle of operation is the following: the electronic circuit creates a diff erence in
potential between the tank and the titanium electrode, thereby guaranteeing excellent protection of the tank,
preventing corrosion due to the galvanic eff ect. For correct system operation, it is necessary to guarantee the
permanent connection of the product to the electrical power mains. Also in the case of appliance downtime,
turn the product off by the On/ Off key, disconnect it from the electrical power mains. lf you wish to switch the
electrical power supply off tor long periods of time, it is advisable to empty out all of the water contained in the
appliance (see “Maintenan ce” paragraph) to ensure increased durability of the tank/resistance.
Protection device operation is reported by the steady light of the relative icon “
”indicating the presence
of suitable power for the circuit terminals. In case of malfunction, “E04” will appear on the display. Contact the
technical assistance centre.
ANTI-FREEZE FUNCTION
The anti-freeze function is the appliances automatic protection to avoid damages caused by very low tempe
ratures below 5 °C, in the event in which the product is turned off during winter. It is recommended that the
product remains plugged in to the mains power, even if iiis inactive for a long time.
The function is enabled; activation is displayed on the display with “AF”.
Attention: in models with user interface Fig. 10, the function is enabled, but it is not indicated in case of activa-
tion. For all models, once the temperature rises to a safer level such as to avoid damage from ice and frost, the
water heating is switched off again.
THERMAL DISINFECTION FUNCTION (ANTI-LEGIONELLA)
The anti-Legionella function is activated by default. It consists of a water heating/60°C temperature mainte
nance cycle for 1 hour which has a thermal disinfection action on the relative bacteria.
The cycle starts when the product is started up and when it is restarted after a power outage. If the product
always functions at temperatures lower than 55°C, the cycle is repeated after 30 days. When the product
is switched off , the anti-Legionella function is deactivated. If the equipment is switched off during the anti
Legionella cycle, the product switches off and the function is deactivated. At the end of the cycle, the use
temperature returns to the temperature previously set by the user.
To activate/deactivate the function while the unit is running, hold down the “MODE” key for 3 sec. Set “Ab 1” (to
activate the function) or “Ab 0” (to deactivate it) with the knob, and confi rm by pressing “SET”. To confi rm that
the function has been activated/deactivated as desired, the unit returns to normal operation.
For models equipped with the user interface shown in figure 10
The activatio of the anti-legionella cycle appears as a normai temperature adjustment 60°C. Activate this
function by pressing and holding both the “ECO” and ”+”” buttons tor 4 s.; once activation is confi rmed, LED
60°C will fl ash quickly tor 4 s. Permanently deactivate the function by repeating the above steps; once the
deactivation is confi rmed, LED 40°C will fl ash quickly tor 4 s.”
