Shield for Upward Exhaust Discharge
Wind Shield for low ambient models
It is necessary for you to install an air discharge
chamber (field supply) to direct exhaust from the fan
upward if:
it is difficult to provide a space of min. 50 cm
between the air discharge outlet and a obstacle.
the air discharge outlet faces a walkway where it
may blow warm air onto passersby.
Refer to Fig. right.
It is recommended to use wind shields for models with
“—L” inside model numbers. Low ambient models
are designed to use in low outdoor temperature condi-
tions.
General
When the outdoor unit is installed in a position ex-
posed to strong wind (like seasonal winds with low air
temperature in winter), wind shields must be installed
on the outdoor unit.
This unit is designed so that the fan of the outdoor unit
runs at low speed when the air conditioner is operated
at low outdoor air temperatures. When the outdoor unit
is exposed to wind, wind influences operating pressure
and causes unstable operation such as activation of high
pressure switch or freeze prevention.
Install a pair of wind shields at the front and back of
the outdoor as required on the upwind side only or on
both sides.
