HYDRAULIC HOSES
Check daily the condition of the hydraulic hoses. Immediately replace a
broken hose with a new one.
STORAGE OF HOSES:
•
Ensure that direct sunlight does not fall directly on hoses and that the
artificial light is not too strong.
•
The storage must be draught- and pressure free.
•
Avoid making the hose in a hot place but if it is unavoidable, use a thermal
shield.
•
Ensure that fluids used are compatible with the hose material.
•
Prevent contact between the hose and wood or cloth impregnated with
creosote.
•
Close open ends of hoses with shield plugs.
•
Ensure that the hose is not twisted when installing. (There is usually a
lengthwise line as an indicator.)
•
Follow the hose specifications recommended by the manufacturer.
DO NOT:
•
stroke the hose with bare hands when testing the pressure.
•
exceed the working temperature range recommended by the
manufacturer.
•
exceed the working pressure range recommended by the
manufacturer.
•
bend the hose over its minimum bending radius.
•
use the hose as a pulling device.
•
use major force to tighten the fittings.
•
paint the hoses without permission from the manufacturer.
