REMOVAL

Have the appropriate special
tool



(to be requested to

aprilia

Official Dealer):

√

clamp installation pliers (2).

Upon installation, replace the
hose clamp that has been re-
moved with a new one having

the same dimensions, to be requested
to an

aprilia

Official Dealer.

Do not attempt to reinstall the removed
hose clamp, since it is unusable.

Do not replace the removed hose clamp
with a screw clamp (3) or with other
types of clamp.

Remove the inspection cover, see p. 52
(REMOVING THE INSPECTION COV-
ER).

◆

Remove the front cover of the rear part
of the fairing, see p. 52 (REMOVING
THE FRONT COVER OF THE REAR
PART OF THE FAIRING).

◆

Release the hose clamp (4).

◆

Disconnect the pipe (5).

Upon reassembly, position the
pipe (5) correctly.

◆

Unscrew and remove the screw (6), tak-
ing the washer.

Upon reassembly, position the
rear brake cable eyelet (7) cor-

rectly.

◆

Unscrew and remove the screw (8) with
the relevant washer.

◆

Loosen the screw (9) of the air manifold
clamp.

◆

Grasp the air manifold in correspond-
ence with the clamp and pull it, thus re-
moving the whole air cleaner casing.

CLEANING THE AIR FILTER

◆

Unscrew the three screws (10).

◆

Remove the filter case cover (11) and
extract the filtering element (12).

◆

To clean the filtering element use clean,
non-inflammable solvents or solvents
with high volatility point, then let it dry
thoroughly.

◆

Apply a filter oil or a thick oil (SAE 80W-
90) on the whole surface of the filtering
element, then squeeze it to eliminate the
oil in excess.

The filter must be well impreg-
nated, though not dripping.






