Pegaso 650 I.E.

3.2.1 REMOVING THE EXHAUST PIPES

Carefully read 0.5.1 (PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL
INFORMATIONS).

WARNING

Let the engine cool down until it reaches room tem-
perature.

◆

Remove the right panel, see 7.1.4 (REMOVING THE

RIGHT AND LEFT SIDES).

◆

Remove the radiator, see 5.2 (REMOVING THE RADI-
ATOR).

◆

Unscrew and remove the two screws (1) (2).

◆

Remove the radiator support (3).

◆

Unscrew and remove the two screws (4) (5), taking the
washers.

◆

Remove the protection cover (6).

◆

Partially unscrew the two screws (7) (8) positioned on

the clamps (9) (10).

Unscrew and remove the two nuts (11) fastening the

flange of the exhaust pipe to the cylinder.

Exhaust pipe flange nut driving torque: 25 Nm (2.5
kgm).

CAUTION

When slipping the exhaust pipe (12) off the cylinder,
take care not to damage the thread of the fastening
stud bolts.

Move the exhaust pipe unit (12) forward, in order to be
able to withdraw the pipes from the seats on the cylin-
der.

NOTE

To make it easier to withdraw the exhaust pipe

unit (12), strike slighlty one of the two supports of the pro-
tection cover with a rubber hammer (see figure).

◆

Partially unscrew the screw (13) positioned on the

clamp (14).

◆

Withdraw the pipe (15) from the exhaust pipe unit (12).

◆

If the graphite sealing ring (16) has deteriorated,

change it.
