MAINTENANCE
The only maintenance required is the periodic replacement of the disposable Aprilaire
filter which you can do in a few minutes. The frequency of replacement will vary with
operation time, the number of particles generated in the home and is affected by:
number of people and their activities, the amount of carpeting, pets, size of home,
number of smokers, the pollution level of the area. Aprilaire recommends replacing
the filter each year. However, all HVAC installations are different. Your contractor may
recommend more or less frequent filter replacement.
CHANGING THE FILTER
Replace the filter with genuine Aprilaire SelfSeal™ filters, available from your installing
contractor.
IMPORTANT:
Follow the step by step directions on the filter replacement
label to ensure that it is installed in the proper orientation – the outlet side of the filter
is the expanded metal.
This label can be found on the inside frame of the filter grille (see
FIGURE 7
). The
model number of the correct replacement filter is also listed on this label. The steps
for changing the filter are also shown in
FIGURE 8
.
IMPORTANT:
Turn the thermostat mode to off and the fan to auto before opening the
air purifier door.
