CHAPTER 6)

4.1. COMPONENT LOCATIONS

Stratus ESG

: Stratus ESG is panel mounted.

GPS antenna

: Typical GPS antenna installation locations are on the top of the aircraft or on the

empennage with consideration for line of sight with satellites.

Transponder antenna

: The transponder antenna should be mounted vertically on the bottom of

the aircraft.

Altitude encoder

: The altitude encoder should be installed using the manufacturer’s

instructions and recommendations.

4.2. MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

The following instructions are in addition to the standard practices used to maintain the aircraft
structure, the wiring described in the aircraft manufacturer’s maintenance manual, and FAA
Advisory Circular 43.13-1B.
