AGP is a bus interface targeted for high-performance 3D graphic. AGP supports only memory
read/write operation and single-master single-slave one-to-one only. AGP uses both rising and
falling edge of the 66MHz clock, for 2X AGP, the data transfer rate is 66MHz x 4byte x 2 =
528MB/s. AGP is now moving to 4X mode, 66MHz x 4byte x 4 = 1056MB/s. AOpen is the first
company to support 4X AGP motherboards by both AX6C (Intel 820) and MX64/AX64 (VIA 694x),
started from Oct 1999.
