11. Front Audio Connector
If the housing has been designed with an audio port on the front panel, you’ll be able to
connect onboard audio to front panel through this connector. By the way, please remove
5-6 and 9-10 jumper caps from the Front Audio Connector before connecting the cable.
Please do not remove these 5-6 and 9-10 yellow jumper caps if there’s no audio port on
the front panel.
The
AUX-IN
connector is used to connect MPEG
Audio cable from MPEG card to onboard sound.
The
MODEM-CN
connector is used to connect
Mono In/ Mic Out cable from internal modem card to
onboard sound circuit.
The
CD-IN
connector is used to connect CD Audio
cable from CDROM or DVD drive to onboard sound.

14. Installing LAN Driver (Optional)
The South Bridge of VIA Apollo P4X266 chipset integrates a total communication solution including
10/100Mb Fast Ethernet for Office requirement. You can install LAN Driver under Windows95/98,
98SE, ME and 2000 by following steps.

1.
Turn on your computer and activate Windows OS. Windows will auto-detect your new adapter
and pop up “New Hardware Found” message.
2.
Select “Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer” to install driver from the diskette
that comes with your LAN adapter.
3.
Specify the path of the driver in the Bonus CD (i.e. [CD-ROM]:\Driver\LAN\82318233) to copy the
files to your systems.
4.
When the driver installation is completed, restart Windows.
Note:
1.
The NDIS2 and ODI drivers are only supported in Windows95.
2.
To update the driver in WinME to this version:
a. Right click “My Computer” on desktop, and choose “Property”.
b. Choose “Device Manager” tab, and expand “Network Adapters”
in the device list.
c. Double click the specified network adapter and click “Update
Driver” in tab “Driver”.
d. Choose “Specify the location of the Driver(Advance)”, and then
key in the driver path. (i.e. [CD-ROM]:\Driver\LAN\82318233).
e. WinME will update the driver to this version and prompt the user
to restart windows.
Note:
If the New
Hardware Found dialog
box does not appear at
startup and you cannot
connect to the network,
check the Device
Manager list to see if
the new adapter is
present. If it is not,
please install the LAN
driver manually.

The South Bridge V8233 of VIA Apollo P4X266 chipset includes a fast Ethernet controller
on chip. On the strength of SB Integrated MAC+ LSI TQ80223 PHY on board, which is a
highly-integrated Platform LAN Connect device, it provides 10/100M bps Ethernet for
office and home use, the Ethernet RJ45 connector is located on top of USB connectors.
The green LED indicates the link mode, it lights when linking to network and blinking when
transferring data. The orange LED indicates the transfer mode, and it lights when data is
transferring in 100Mbps mode. To enable or disable this function, you may simply adjust it
through BIOS.
