Operation
Please carefully read and understand the instructions in this
manual thoroughly before attempting to operate this unit. These
instructions contain important safety information regarding the
use and maintenance of this unit. Please keep this manual with

Power Supply:
Before plugging your unit in, be sure the source
voltage in your area matches the required voltage for your
American DJ® Flash Duo VS.™ The American DJ® Flash Duo
VS™ is available in a 120v and 220v version. Because line volt-
age may vary from venue to venue, be sure to plug your fixture
into a wall outlet with a matching power supply before attempt-
ing to operate.
General Operation:
Just plug this light in, and watch it go. This
fixture is designed to operate as a stand alone unit. The Flash
Duo VS™ is ready to be plugged in, out of the box. There is no
power switch, after plugging the unit in the base and two outer
heads will immediately begin to spin.
Adjustable Speed Knob:
The speed at which this unit rotates
can be adjusted by turning the knob located at the base of the
unit or by the Mini/C or Wireless C (sold separately). The knob
has four speed settings. When the knob is turned all the way
counter-clockwise it will rotate the slowest at 8 r.p.m. By turning
the knob clockwise to the second position which rotates at 18
r.p.m. The next position will rotate at 28 r.p.m. Until, it is turned
all the way clockwise and it rotates the fastest at 38 r.p.m.
Mini/C or Wireless C:
If you use the Mini/C or Wireless C
to control the rotation speed, you must push the Mini/C or
Wireless C button two (2) times to change the rate of speed.
Rotation Switch:
This unit comes with a rotation switch
located at the base of the unit next to the AC cord. The switch
allows the unit to rotate either clockwise or counter-clockwise
or remain static.
When the switch is in the “I” position the unit will spin counter-
clockwise.
When the switch is in the “0” the unit will remain static.
When the switch is in the “II” the unit will spin clockwise.
Adjustable Strobe Speed:
The strobe speed can also be
adjusted, by turning the knob at the top of the unit. Turning the
knob clockwise will make the unit strobe faster. Turning the
knob counter-clockwise will make the unit strobe slower.
