If the cranks have already loosened, the inner square is mostly worn out.
The cranks
and,
if necessary, the axle must then be
replaced
. Disassemble the fixed crank only with a crank puller,
never knock down
with force.
When installing, the square bearing surfaces of the crank and axle must be completely free of grease.
Check regularly whether the pedals (4) are screwed tight to the cranks. Note that the
pedals have different threads. Left pedal with left-hand thread; it is screwed
counterclockwise. Right pedal with right-hand thread; it is screwed clockwise. On the
pedals there is a mark near the key area: "L" for the left side, "R" for the right side.
Tighten the pedals with a
pedal
wrench SW 15.

Observe inspection intervals.
When driving for a long time with a loose steering bearing (1), breakage of
the steerer tube (2) can not be ruled out. A fall with serious injuries could
be the result.
Check:
- With the handbrake lever (3) pulled on, move the bike forwards and backwards. If
there is play
in the steering bearing (1)
,
must be readjusted.

The cranks (1) can relax over time when driving. Check regularly if the cranks are tight.
If you move the cranks vigorously sideways, there is no play to be spared. Also, the
bottom bracket (2)
axle should
have no play and the cranks may need to be easily
rotatable, then the bearing is in proper condition. Check the bottom bracket regularly.
To do this, move the cranks sideways. If you find that the cranks or the bottom bracket
are loose, please contact the dealer.
The cranks are available with max. 35 Nm tightened.
Follow suit:
- Tighten screws (3) on both sides.
