BreezeACCESS SU-M-900 Installation Guide

Number of Scanning Attempts In Roaming
Scan
The Number of Scanning Attempts In Roaming Scan parameter defines how
many times the SU will scan each frequency during a roaming scan.
The range is from 1 to 255.
The default is 2.
Roaming Decision RSSI Threshold
The Roaming Decision RSSI Threshold defines the threshold for a roaming
scan decision. If the RSSI at which the AU is received drops below this
threshold, the SU will enter roaming scan mode.
The range is from 1 to 255.
The default is 30 (-97dBm = disabled).
The Roaming Decision RSSI Threshold must be configured to a meaningful
value in order for the roaming scan feature to work.
Use Table D-2: “RSSI to dBm Conversion – SU” in the BreezeACCESS 900
System Manual to convert values from RSSI to dBm.
Changes in HDM/Flexible Hopping
Definition Parameters
Scan Entire Sub Band Option
In order to increase the roaming speed and statistically increase the
chances of the algorithm to detect neighboring AUs, it is possible to specify
only the frequencies used by the deployment, thus eliminating the scanning
on frequencies that are not used.
In order to support this capability, a new option, Scan Entire Sub Band,
was added to the HDM/Flexible Hopping Definition sub-menu.
To scan only the frequencies used by the deployment, do the following:
a. Set the “Scan Entire Band” parameter to Disabled.
b. Configure all the frequencies used by the entire deployment (All AUs in
the roaming cloud) in the “Define Sub-Bands”.
c. Set the “Scan Entire Sub Band” option to Enabled
The default for the Scan entire Sub Band option is Disabled.
